2024. július 16-án püspökké szenteltéke Macapula Tódor atyát, aki ettől a naptól kezdve a Munkácsi Görögkatolikus Egyházmegye főpásztora.

A szentelési ünnepségen több száz pap vett részt, közöttük pedig ott voltak egyházmegyénk áldozópapjai is. A résztvevők nagy száma miatt nem jutott be minden pap a templomba, de akik kint maradtak, azok is láthatták a felemelő eseményt a hívek számára kihelyezett kivetítőkön át.
Kerületünk szempontjából fontos esemény volt, hogy a Szent Liturgia alkalmával többek között magyar nyelven is hangzottak el ekténiák, valamint egyházmegyénk magyar hívekért felelős helynöke Demkó Ferenc atya volt az, aki a hajdúdorogi érsek szavait ukránra fordította.
Új püspökünk egy szeretetteljes cselekedete volt, amikor saját ünnepségét és püspöktársait egy időre magára hagyta, átmenjen a szeminárium épületébe, ahol a papok számára terítettek asztalt. Itt új püspökünk külön köszönetet mondott minden papjának, családjaiknak, illetve azoknak az embereknek, akik segítettek az ünnepség szervezésének lebonyolításában. Isten éltesse Tódor püspököt számos éven át!

Father Theodor Matsapula was consecrated as a bishop on July 16, 2024, and from that day on he is the eparchial bishop of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Mukachewo. Hundreds of priests took part in the consecration ceremony, and among them were the priests of our deanery. Due to the large number of participants, not all priests were able to enter the church, but those who stayed outside could see the uplifting event through the projectors set up for the faithful.
It was an important event from the point of view of our district that during the Holy Liturgy liturgical supplications were recited in Hungarian, among other languages, and Father Ferenc Demkó, the vicar responsible for the Hungarian faithful of our diocese, was the one who translated the words of the Archbishop of Hajdúdorog into Ukrainian.
It was a loving act of our new bishop when he left his own celebration and his fellow bishops alone for a while to go over to the seminary building where a table was set for the priests. Here, our new bishop thanked all his priests, their families, and the people who helped organize the celebration. May God bless Bishop Theodor for many years!
