Történelmi eseménynek lehettek tanúi a Sztojka Sándor Görögkatolikus Líceum tanárai, diákjai és mindazok a vendégek, akik az intézmény tanévnyitó ünnepségére látogattak el.
Felszentelése utáni első látogatását tette ugyanis Karácsfalván egyházmegyénk főpásztora, Macapula Tódor püspök. A főpásztor azért érkezett az iskola kollégiumába, hogy a Beregszászi Esperesi Kerület papjainak részévételével ünnepélyesen celebrálja a líceum tanévnyitó ünnepségének Szent Liturgiáját. A püspök atya papok és diákok kíséretében vonult be az intézmény tornatermébe, ahol a templomi felújítások miatt a liturgikus teret előkészítették. Ünnepi beszédében Tódor püspök kiemelte azt az isteni ajándékot, amelyért a Kárpátalján élők hálásak lehetnek a háborús időszakban. Itt ugyanis a gyerekek továbbra is jelenléti oktatási formában tanulhatnak. A diákok figyelmét kiemelten felhívta arra, hogy a tanulás, az ismeretek bővítése olyan feladat, amelyre maga Isten hívta meg az embert a teremtésben. Az ünnepi Liturgia végén Tódor püspök imádkozott a tanévüket megkezdő gyermekekért, majd szenteltvízzel hintette meg a megjelenteket. A tanévnyitó ezután beszédekkel és szavalattal folytatódott, az intézmény igazgatónője pedig hivatalosan is megnyitotta a 2024-25-ös tanévet. Az ünnepség végén főpásztorunk közös ebéd keretében beszélgethetett egyházmegyénk megjelent papjaival, illetve az intézmény tanári karával.

The teachers, students and guests of the Greek Catholic Lyceum named after Sándor Sztojka witnessed a historic event at the opening ceremony of the school year. The first visit to Karácsfalva after his consecration was made by the bishop of our diocese, Bishop Theodor Matsapula. He came to the Lyceum to celebrate the Holy Liturgy with the participation of priests from the Berehovo Diocesan District. The Liturgy was celebrated at the beginning of the opening ceremony of the school year
The Bishop, accompanied by priests and students, entered the sports hall of the institution, where the liturgical space had been prepared for the mass. This year the church building of Karácsfalva, in which the ceremony is usually held, is under renovation.
In his solemn homily, Bishop Todor highlighted the divine gift for which the people of Transcarpathia can be grateful in this time of war. Here, children can continue to learn in a form of present education. He drew the students' attention to the fact that learning and expanding knowledge is a task to which God himself called man in creation.
At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Todor prayed for the children who were starting their school year and sprinkled holy water on them.
The opening of the school year continued with speeches and the headmistress officially opened the school year of 2024-2025.
At the end of the ceremony, our bishop shared lunch with the priests of the diocese and the teaching staff of the institution.
